The Sight Seer by Melissa Giorgio

Silver Moon Saga #1

The Sight Seet
Gabi Harkins likes to think she’s a pretty normal sixteen-year-old. She goes to school, suffers though an awful part-time job, and deals with a bratty younger sister. But when a potential shoplifter morphs into a monster right in front of her, Gabi realizes her life is far from normal—especially when that monster follows her home and ends up battling a boy wielding a sword in her backyard. The boy, Rafe Fitzgerald, is a member of Silver Moon, an organization devoted to eradicating demons before they kill humans. If this little bit of news isn’t earth-shattering enough, Rafe reveals that he needs Gabi’s help. As strong as Rafe is, he does not possess the Sight—a rare ability that allows a hunter to See through a demon’s glamour, enabling them to strike before the demon does. But guess who does? While Gabi is reluctant to face another demon, she knows she owes Rafe big time for saving her. Together, they’re thrown headfirst into heart-stopping situations as they battle newer and more frightening demons. When she starts to fall for Rafe, Gabi knows her normal life is gone forever.

Review

Great book with even greater humor and romance. It was impossible to not highlight several sentences in this book, Gabi was way too funny with her thought and personality. The fact that she was very blunt in saying whatever she wanted made this book a very light read with a lot of action, cute romance, and downright laugh out loud moments.

Gabi can see demons and when one of them follows her home she ends up meeting Rafe, a demon hunter, one that can really see the true form of demons until the moment they attack. And he wants to recruit Gabi in helping searching for demons hiding among people. But every time they are together, some demon just pop out and the result is always the complete destruction of a piece of Gabi’s wardrobe. And she always insist of Rafe paying her back with a piece of clothing or something with chocolate in it. Rafe is one shy guy too, and I often laugh at his reactions to Gabi’s and Evan’s teasing of him.

We don’t get much information about the Silver Moon, besides the fact that Evan and Rafe have some problems with them, Rafe for not having the sight and Evan for not being completely serious in hunting. The only thing we know of at least it’s explained is that the Silver Moon would be interested in Gabi’s sight and her other special ability.

I like Gabi’s family and friends, and if I thought that Gabi was too blunt and funny, then Penny was even worse, and when the two were together I was laughing so much that tears were running down my face. And Evan was no exception, always revealing embarrassing facts about Rafe, and showing when he was least wanted and expected.

This is a great book about Demons and has a lot of action and the romance is great too, I think this is a good book for any person to read, I love how there’s so much happening and so much more to expect. I can’t help but think about the whole thing about Gabi’s mom departure when Gabi and her sister were kids having something to do with the whole demon sight that Gabi has. And Evan with what he did in the end...WTH. How could he do this? I know he has reason to do it but he totally didn’t think of the consequences, and I can’t help but wonder what will happen in the next book because of his stupid decision.
