Review

Harper is an orphan that has been kicked out from foster homes way too many times because of what they call behavioral problems, but Harper real problem was not being able to control her strange powers. When she is told that the next foster home is her last chance before she is sent to juvie.
Harper is determined to make it last until she turns 18, but what she doesn’t know is that Peachville is not just a small town, and Shadowford Home is not just a foster home. Things work different in Peachville, and Harper soon discover she is not the only one with powers.
I’ve putt of reading this book for so long and I don’t really remember the reason that I didn’t want to read it. But this is a good beginning for a series. Harper has a past that she doesn’t know about, and the answers seem to be in Peachville, and the secret of how to control her powers and from where they came is also in this town. But she doesn’t know who to trust, the cheerleaders seem to be so important for this town for some reason, and all the important jobs in the town is ruled by powerful womans. And what about Jackson, people keep saying his is trouble, but why exactly?
This book is short in a sense but I hardly saw the pages turning, there’s so many things to discover with Harper, and there’s so much frustration with all the rules, secrets, and power.
Story: Discovering you’re not a freak it’s really good, even better if you discover there are more people like you and that they may teach you how to control this power. But for each good thing there’s always a few dark secrets behind.
Story: I was disappointed when Harper ended up with Drake after she joined the cheerleaders and certainly was hooting for Jackson all the way, but of course there’s some spell behind all this.
