Jessie Lucente, a Light Tamer, has started her junior year at Parca Academy in New Bern, NC. She has a new boyfriend, Caleb Baldwin. He is beyond good looking, he is her mate for life. They've been bound by the light and will rule with their gift. Her new classes aren't what she expected. Finding out the school is filled with 'gifted' kids is almost too much to comprehend. She finds out what it really means to be a Light Tamer. Some of the assumptions she had are debunked and now everything is crystal clear...well, clear as mud. Now that she is enlightened with the facts, she struggles with the truth.

Review

Even though I liked this book, I think it moved a little slow. The first book was so fast in explaining the The Light Tamer world and their power while this second book there was only promises of learning new ways of using their light and how fast Jessie learned to fight thanks to Fate's knowledge transfer. But what about the real action?

Jessie supposedly learned a lot of things, but when the action seems to begin, the book ends.

I liked the new take on why Jessie and Caleb are special. I just hope this means something important in the whole final battle with the underworld.

This book could be better, but it wasn't that bad neither. Just too slow at the beginning and to fast in the end.
