Review

This book can be read as a stand alone but I think the best would be to read this after Peachville High Demons series.

After the battle against priestess Winters ends with the destruction of the sapphire demon gates. All the demons trapped in the sapphire gate were released as well as their witches, a lot of witches had to be killed and now Harper together with Jackson and all their friends, including Jackson's twin brother that was trapped in Harper, have to plan new strategies to defeat the other priestess and their respective gates.
But Jackson's vision and Harper's dreams show a new attack from the Emerald gates, and when the witches begins kidnapping new witches and stealing even more demons, Harper and Lea have to think of ways to keep their kingdom safe as well the witches that support the releasing of all shadow demons.

But how is everything going to play out?

This book has a lot of actions and is told by Harper, Jackson, Lea and Aerden point of view. This is very different but interesting, because Aerden were trapped in the demon gate for a century and Lea was a hard character to understand. In this book we see that she is still struggling with Jackson's engagement with Harper and the fact that she still thought that Jackson still loved her, but for those that have read Jackson's novella, know why she can't believe how Jackson stopped loving her.

Aerden has a hard time adjusting having a solid body and a free will. He doesn't feel like using his magic because he still tortured from his time in slavery but he tries to hide this while trying his best to comfort Lea in this hard time in her life.
Jackson and Harper are both really stressed with all the warnings and visions they have of the war that is approaching them and they didn't even had enough time to celebrate their engagement.

With all this happening, there's a lot in this book, action, suspense, new and old friendships, betrayal and all that. And having four points of view we get to be in different situations at the same time. And this book ends in a biggest cliffhanger. It's awful when you finish reading the chapter to discover that it's the end. It makes you think of what is going to happen in the next book.
