Poof by Audrey Lockhart

The Las Vegas Vampire Saga #1

Poof
Welcome to the city of luck, where vampires mingle and true love sizzles. For my kind, there is one simple rule drilled into us at birth and all through life, no biting till after your twenty-one and only ever with your true blood mate. Easy enough, right? For seventeen year old Abigail Blackmoor, life was good. Sure, she could quit causing havoc at school with her two best friends, Shadow and Grace, but that’s high school for you. Also given the fact that her parents were the famous Blackmoor Magicians, did little to stop her.
With her mix of vampire and magic blood, the rule of no biting has always kept her on edge as her blood had the potential to kill if not given to her true blood mate. When Kieran O’Grádaigh comes crashing into her psychic tent at a school festival, her life will never be the same again. He is her other half and one she has to fight to not give her heart away too.
They will need to put on hold their growing feelings for one another to avoid bringing evil to those around them. What they will soon realize is that the more they resist the urge to break that one rule, the easier it will be to just give in.

The Sight Seer by Melissa Giorgio

If this little bit of news isn’t earth-shattering enough, Rafe reveals that he needs Gabi’s help. As strong as Rafe is, he does not possess the Sight—a rare ability that allows a hunter to See through a demon’s glamour, enabling them to strike before the demon does. But guess who does? While Gabi is reluctant to face another demon, she knows she owes Rafe big time for saving her. Together, they’re thrown headfirst into heart-stopping situations as they battle newer and more frightening demons. When she starts to fall for Rafe, Gabi knows her normal life is gone forever.

Rory used to count down the days until she could leave, but now with a younger brother in tow, it would be hard she could never leave him. Rory is trapped in the Trailer Park like a princess in her tower, with her mother playing the big bad drunken fire breathing dragon. The dream of her knight coming to save her faded away about the same time her goals changed. Feeling useless and angry Rory starts her new school and gets trampled by none other than Monroe Falls Golden Boy Tobias West. She finds herself seeing him as the knight she dreamed of, though she believes it to be just that, a dream. Tobias (Toby) is Mr. Popular/ Mr. Perfect/ Mr. Money in the bank. Toby’s ex, Ashley refuses to lose out to trailer park trash, and Rory finds herself the fuel to Ashley’s new found hate. On top of Monroe Falls High School drama, Rory still has to deal with her drunken mother and needy brother. She doesn’t have time for childish games. Reality hits Rory hard when her mother brings home a ticking time bomb for a bed mate and the need for that shiny knight becomes real. Rome appears like she conjured him up out of thin air with magical powers, and instantly becomes her best friend. He seems to always be around when she needs someone to talk to and seems to always know just how to fix it. (Did I mention he is drop dead beautiful?) Two knights in shining armor? Nope!! That doesn’t happen, not in fairy tales, and definitely not in real life. Rory finds herself realizing there is a thin line between relationships and friendships lines that are starting to blur. Toby is getting ready to leave for college, Ashley’s nonstop meanness, and Rome showing up can Rory handle the pressure? Her old friend reality takes another whack at her, causing her dread and despair to take over. Rory is questioning herself and its wrecking havoc on the strong girl she’s always considered herself to be. Has her poor choices doomed her to life in the trailer park or will she be able to exceed even her own expectations? Will she ever realize she is truly a princess worthy of getting her prince? Or will she simply survive? How does Rory’s story end? This book is suited best for readers over the age of 17 due to sexual content and some language. As well as a few different types of abuse that is rarely talked about. (Verbal, Mental, and to some extent sexual and psychical)

Love in the Time of Cynicism by Jani Berghuis

Stand Alone

Love in the Time of Cynicism
Senior year is supposed to be full of college applications and succumbing to the wishes of well-meaning but most likely soulless parents, but the radically un-ambitious, coffee supremacist protagonist of Love in the Time of Cynicism doesn’t want any of that. Despite being blessed with a quick wit and sharp tongue, Cordelia-called-Del can’t manage to find her voice until poetically driven and shockingly flirtatious Rhett Tressler worms his way into her life. That’s when everything changes. Cordelia Kane, named by a mother clearly out to get her, is a New York heart trapped in a soul-sucking, altogether too white suburban Texas town living what only the most generous would call a half life. For years, she’s suffered through shifts at a local coffeehouse, bowing to the whims and wishes of people she can’t stand for money she doesn’t need. Until she meets the greatest oxymoron of her life at the start of her Senior year: Rhett Tressler, who wears a leather jacket and drives a motorcycle but spends afternoons reading the collected works of Sylvia Plath. Through exchanging the art of sarcasm, dissecting the brilliance of The Breakfast Club, sharing the secrets of their surprisingly broken pasts, and finding out what makes their suburban town worth living in, they find the sort of love nobody gives teenagers credit for.

When Holly learns they are from a different planet, she does what she can to help protect Amira from Shander, a man who wants to marry her by force in order to take over the kingdom her father rules.Mistaken identity, a botched kidnapping, and a first kiss that bonds Holly and Jai for life are hard enough, but when Shander believes Holly to be the princess, things get even more dangerous.

Obrigada!

Inner Demons by Sarra Cannon

Peachville High Demons series #2

**Description Contains Book 1 Spoilers**
Title of Spoiler:

Inner Demons
Becoming a Demons cheerleader was the last thing Harper Madison expected when she moved to the small town of Peachville. Now that she's an official member of the squad, her training can begin. Only, this is no normal group of cheerleaders. Harper isn't there to learn dances and cheers. She became a cheerleader in order to finally learn how to control the magic inside. The Peachville Demons cheerleading squad is really a training ground for a powerful coven of witches called the Order of Shadows. The training opens up a new world for Harper. It's a world of beauty and magic beyond her wildest dreams, but also a world of pressure and impossible expectations. A world where every secret hides an even darker secret.

Review

Harper didn’t expect to become one of the cheerleaders of Peachville High, but now that she knows the cheerleaders are witches and have power like her, she feels that she finally could fit in. But being a Demons Cheerleader is not an easy feature. After the other girls do a ritual with Harper that leaves a demon face in her back, Harper begins to wonder what is the price of more power. She still don’t know why she feels she is forgetting something important.
Well I like this book because we are finally seeing the whole true about the cheerleaders of Peachville High and we see why the most powerful people in the town are all women. We discover that the cheerleaders are just trainees to the coven, and after the ritual when they turn 18 is when they are fully members of the coven, and we notice there’s some reason why Harper was chosen to become one of the cheerleaders, but they are not telling her why. Even though Harper feels a part of the magical community she still is kept in the dark. She is having flashbacks about how she got the cut in hand, the cut that everyone says was caused by a piece of glass in her bathroom. But is that the true? She decides to find the answer by herself and what she sees make her think twice before trusting the coven member and she certainly doesn’t want any part of that, but how can she leave? Even though harper doesn’t know everything, we know the cut in her hand was caused by someone during a ritual, and every time she speaks with Jackson, she forgets it. Who is Jackson, and why go through all this trouble to make sure Harper and Jackson can’t talk to each other? I was really curious about him. Who he is to the coven, because no man is part of they coven. I guess the only person that I truly trusted at this point was Jackson and maybe the other cheerleader because we discover that they not always want to be part of the coven and become cheerleaders.
Drake was just annoying, but Harper couldn’t do much about him giving who his mother is, so she has to put up with him even though she rather be with Jackson.

Forgetful

Soo, I was so nervous yesterday because I was posting a review for the first time, and I was scared of the results, which I guess I shouldn't have worried about, mostly because I don't think many people even read it yet, much less criticize whatever I've written, but because of all this I ended up forgetting to put up Labels in my post and I forgot to add that Summer Demons is part of a series even though It is still a Stand Alone, the thing is, the rest of the books have different characters but some of them have characters portrayed in each book.
So Summer Demons is a separate book, but the next book in this series is about Amy, Jenna's best friend in Summer Demons!
So, for those of you that like Amy, you may like the next book "Winter Angel". I haven't read it yet, but I guess it's in my list of next reading (which is a very long list).
I'll be editing the post, but just wanted to make it clear first, or some people may not notice the change.

Summer Demons by Mia Hoddell

[First Review]

Summer Demons
Jenna Shaw ran away to escape her past. In fact, she jumped on a plane and flew to Portugal to try and forget it. However, it turns out leaving everything behind isn't as easy as it sounds.
She thought she could move on and break free of her fears - that if she had some space the pain would stop. But as memories resurface due to an ill-timed joke, the past crashes into her present once more and she didn't see it coming. Jenna's plans for normality are derailed by the charismatic Ethan Brooks. She sees him as an annoyance; he sees her as a challenge. But as he tries every trick known to him to impress her, they only serve to push her further away. He's never faced this problem before and Ethan has to work harder than he ever has if he wants to win over and help his mysterious girl.
A young adult romance, this novella would be a great book for teenagers or as a feel-good summer read.

Welcome!!

How the blog will work?
I know that this blog doesn't look great, but I'm having a hard time trying to import templates and all that, and I'm really frustated >.<
But this is a promise to myself and to my mother, and I hope that looks are not the only thing that matters, hopefully you'll like my posts and my reviews sooo...

This is my blog after much fight with the internet and to every single provider that I tried, this is the last worst ;3
I read a lot and I'm challenging myself in reading 130 books like you can see in my reading challenge meter, and I thought: "Why not doing reviews?" I found out early on that it's not as easy as it looks, but I'm trying either way, hope you can give me tips if you think of a way to make it better, I'm here to learn, and to try something new that may or not help my family and me.
So, I'll say right away: "I'm putting affiliate links in my reviews if you want to buy the book"
"Why?" "Because I'm going through a really hard time here, and I want to get any earning I can, but I'm not lying or hiding things from anyone, I like to be honest and I'll only be reviewing books that I've fully read and most of them that I love or at least like it, I hope you can help me >.< it doesn't really hurt .-. But not all my links will be affiliated and I'll promote and review wattpad author and their stories, because a lot of them deserve to have their stories published, so help me and all these authors, pls"
I read a lot of fantasy and paranormal books, mostly on kindle and Kobo for android, because I don't have much access to foreign books, and the few that I can buy here are too expensive, and I'm not rich, so ebook is my reading style, so I find a lot of indie authors too, so I hope you share my tastes in books.

I'll be posting twice per week, but since I'm already ahead in what I've read this year, I'll be posting every day until I reach my currently reading.
I'll soon add an youtube channel to help me promote de blog, I'll be posting videos of sample reading with some commentary, and my opinion on the books but with possible spoilers, so If you are interested in the books review here, and wants to read it, you can see my video with the sample reading, and if you have read it you can watch my video about what I thought after I finished reading it. But I'll only start the channel after my webcam arrives in my mail >.< hopefully soon.

If you're still reading this: "Thank you! Thank you!"
see you soon ^-^
